My Two Year Old Isn’t Talking

By the age of 2, children should have a vocabulary of at least 200-300 words.  They should be combining words into 2 and 3 word “sentences” such as, “Daddy go”, “Want more cookies”, “Mommy’s shoe”.  Children will also be starting to add “ing” to words, using pluras (blocks, books) and using some contractions “don’t, can’t”.  Two year-olds should be able to follow simple commands (“get your shoes”, “give me a kiss”), point to several body parts when named and point to pictures in a book.
